About Me
The story behind the data scientist
Hi, I'm Rishabh
I'm a computational researcher at the University of Victoria, working at the intersection of data science and healthcare. My work focuses on understanding how the immune system responds to cancer, using computational models to simulate biological processes that could lead to better treatments.
With a double major in Computer Science and Statistics, I bridge the gap between complex algorithms and real-world medical applications. I believe that the most impactful work happens when technical expertise meets genuine curiosity about solving human problems.
When I'm not analyzing tumor microenvironments or training machine learning models, you'll find me exploring Victoria's trails, experimenting with new technologies, or diving into research papers that push the boundaries of what's possible.
My Journey
Leading computational research on cancer immunotherapy under Dr. Farouk Nathoo. Developing statistical models to understand antibody diffusion in tumor microenvironments, with the goal of optimizing treatment strategies for ovarian cancer patients.
Spearheaded the "Road to Recovery" patient monitoring system for opioid addiction treatment. Built interactive Power BI dashboards that are now used across British Columbia, automating reporting processes and saving 15+ hours weekly.
Contributed to India's Digital India Initiative by digitizing physical land records using graph algorithms. The system I helped develop was scaled to multiple metropolitan cities, improving revenue collection efficiency.
Double major with focus on data mining, machine learning, Bayesian statistics, and applied regression. Graduated with 8.0/9.0 GPA while building a foundation for computational research.
Built foundational skills in computer science, algorithms, and data structures. This is where my journey into programming began, and where I discovered my passion for using code to solve real problems.
